In what was set to be a tense game as the Adran Premier comes to a close Port Talbot put four goals past Barry to move above them in the table.

Jess Hammett, Courteney Thomas, Cerys Bevan and Terri Beddows getting the goals as Port Talbot made it four wins from four against Barry.

The win puts Port Talbot just two points behind Pontypridd in the Adran Plate and three points ahead of Barry who sit bottom. With the final games in two weeks its all to play for as Port Talbot could still win the Plate or face relegation.

On a cold afternoon at Jenner Park Port Talbot started the better and had several chances as they took the game to Barry.

Vicky Beddows shooting straight at the Barry keeper and Coryn Sexton hitting one wide.

Port Talbot controlled the first half and deserved took the lead after 22 minutes. Courteney Thomas with a good ball to Jess Hammett in the box. Hammett able to poke the ball past Brennen to give the visitors the lead.

Port Talbot kept the pressure on their hosts and kept looking for the second goal as Barry struggled to get going. Jess Hammett forcing a save from Brennen from distance.

The second half began with Barry winning a free kick in good position. Lauren Harris put a cross into the box that Port Talbot captain, Chelsey Harris headed away. Mackenzie Olden tried to hit the follow up at goal but it was high and over.

After a chance at one end Port Talbot went on the attack again and made it two. Coryn Sexton playing Cerys Bevan in behind the defence and Bevan put the ball past Brennen.

Barry tried to push forward and get back into the game but Port Talbot’s defence stood firm and restricted any chances that Barry could muster.

As the clock ticked down Port Talbot made sure of the win as Courteney Thomas added a third after some good build up play.

It got better for Port Talbot as Terri Beddows hit a wonder goal with three minutes to play. The ball dropping in front of her before she sent a lob over the keeper.
